Sixteen ramps afford easy access to 27,000 seats.
At the dedicatory ceremonies, 27,000 persons exited from the stadium in five minutes. Beneath the stadium are ample sanitary facilities for the public, as well as locker rooms, shower rooms, rubbing and drying rooms for contesting teams. The driveway in the rear of the stadium is known as the Roosevelt Mall.

This tree has been particularly attractive to persons who wish to depart from this life before their time. Many persons have been found under this oak with an empty vial or gun by their side, hence its cognomen "Suicide Oak."

These old oaks, famous in Louisiana legend and history as the dueling ground where Micajah Lewis, Secretary to Governor Claiborne, was killed in 1804. Here eighteen duels were fought by Emile La Sere, member of Congress from New Orleans. On one Sunday in 1837 ten duels were fought under these trees.
